IFCO PRESENTS: 25 YEARS ON THE SILVER SCREEN WITH CELLULOID DREAMZ
When: Saturday, April 29th, 2017
Doors open: 6:15PM
Where: The Morning Light Room – Novotel (#33 Nicholas Street)
What: New films by IFCO’s talented filmmakers
IFCO presents new Super 8mm and 16mm short films. From experimental documentaries, to exciting dramatic narratives, IFCO is excited to be celebrating 25 years of exciting film works on the silver screen with CELLULOID DREAMZ.
For twenty-five years IFCO has been nurturing Ottawa based film artists, providing them with access to working and experimenting with emulsion, light, sound and grain; allowing for audiences in the National Capital Region, to access ‘reel’ film art! The Co-operative is really thrilled to be able to showcase the works of its talented filmmakers; bringing their stories to the screen in front of a home grown audience.
We’re also doubly excited to be presenting two wonderful short films from two celebrated Canadian film artists, as part of this special co-presentation with the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre (CFMDC); Canada’s quintessential non-commercial film distributor dedicated to distributing works which operate not simply outside of the mainstream, but which are innovative and diverse in their origins and expressions. CFMDC is celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year, so we’re really thrilled to be featuring works from artists they represent, in our 25th anniversary screening program, alongside short films from IFCO’s artists.
So, if you’re a local, or just visiting, and you’re looking for something interesting to do; take a break, and come join IFCO and its filmmakers as we celebrate 25 years of presenting the film works of indie Canadian filmmakers on the silver screen at IFCO’s CELLULOID DREAMZ screening.
After the screening, you’ll have a great opportunity to mix and mingle with various IFCO’s filmmakers at the after-party in the foyer of the Morning Light Room at the NOVOTEL – located at (#33 Nicholas Street). There’ll be some delicious eats and bites!
